As for the BPM detection, it’s already programmed duafiee but needs to be finetuned, because sometimes the BPM detected is not right, but in most cases it is very accurate. You cannot connect the turntables to Mic Inputs!

E-MU 0404 USB / ESI DuaFire in WIndows 8 … both OK
And since your program has such a nice value I will most probably start with quad2 first. IIRC, both interfaces started to work after reboot in my case.
As far as I know, FireWire has proven to be less error-prone than USB – the speed of the computer is not really the problem duafore – it’s more that USB was never really designed for high-speed, low-latency transfers. Make sure to buy a card with the right inputs.
So you could only attach one single turntable, is that what you want?

News: ESI Now Shipping Firewire Audio Interface DuaFire
Current Beta drivers meant for Windows 7. Just installed the Developers Preview version of Windows 8 bit to try out if couple of my external audio interfaces would work in it. It’s a bit a matter of luck, but in most cases it dduafire work. What drivers did you use with the emu?.
You really don’t have to limit yourself to the FireWire market – those soundcards are in general very costy and offer nothing more than the USB ones.
