Born in 1977, Jakrawal Nilthamrong studied Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University in Bangkok, Thailand and obtained his MFA in Art and Technology Sudies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been shown internationally at festivals and exhibitions. He currently lectures at the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, Thammasat University.
In 2007 he was an artist-in-residence at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. In recent years, his short films as well as his feature debut Unreal Forest (2010) were screened in Rotterdam. Currently, Nilthamrong is working on his feature Vanishing Point, which is supported by the Hubert Bals Fund.
